Gray Matters Counseling and Wellness, PLLC is a private-practice offering mental health and wellness services.

We recognize the importance of identifying the relationship between mind, body, and spirit. This holistic approach to mental health wellness takes into consideration numerous factors that may be contributing to an individual's overall life dissatisfaction.

Consider the stone cairn displayed above. The stones in the cairn are completely dependent upon one another. If just one stone in the entire series is out of place, the rest of the structure will suffer. Humans are much the same. We must examine each aspect of a person's life to truly understand how each component is connected to and impacted by one another.

This is therapy. Leave no stone unturned.

We offer family sessions when children and teens under the age of 18 are in need of services. We implement a family-systems approach to treating minors as we have found that the problem often does not start with the child. The issues at hand may be too big for the child to navigate in therapy sessions alone without the support of their 'tribe'. Primary caretakers are required to participate actively to help bridge the gap between therapy and day-to day life. This also helps to identify how other household members might be contributing to issues as well as how they can contribute to solutions. Raising children truly takes a village! Therefore, these sessions might also include grandparents, step-parents, and/or partners of the minor's parents who are active caretakers in the life of the child in need of services.

Word Nerd

There is a fine line between Mental Illness and Mental Wellness.

I vs. We

Don’t go it alone! By leaning into your people, finding new people, replacing old ones,

being that person to someone else… you can achieve the wellness you desire and deserve!

Everyone has a chapter in their life

that they don’t read out loud.
